About
Community events for Oman
Joinat is where people in Oman find the small, local things happening around them, and where anyone can start one.
Most of the good things happening near you never make it onto a website. A weekly football game, a hiking group heading to Wadi Al Khoudh at sunrise, a language exchange in a cafe, a university society meeting. They live in WhatsApp groups you are only in if someone thought to add you.
Joinat is a place to put them, so people can actually find them.
How it works
Find something to do
Browse what is happening near you, or search the map. Most of it is free, and none of it needs an account to look at.
Or host it yourself
Posting an event takes a few minutes. Every one is checked before it goes public, so the list stays worth reading.
Keep the group together
If people keep coming back, turn it into a community. Then your regulars hear about the next one without you chasing them.
The same account does both
There is no separate host account to sign up for. The person who joins a hike in March is often the one organising it by June, so we did not split those into two kinds of user. What changes over time is how much the platform trusts you: host events that people turn up to, and more becomes available. Nobody has to apply for anything.
Built here, for here
Joinat is built in Oman by Phoenix Trading Ent L.L.C., starting in Muscat. That is not a marketing line: it decides what gets built. Weekends land where they should, distances are measured from where you actually are, and the categories are the things people here organise. Arabic is coming, and the UAE after that.
